The warm, friendly atmosphere continues in our infant department. Here, our confident and happy children are encouraged to take part in a wide variety of activities and we take great pleasure in celebrating their achievements and contributions.

Experienced and committed staff plan and deliver an exciting curriculum which opens up new possibilities, develops independent learning and encourages all children to be the best they can be.

Self- esteem and strong partnerships with parents and carers continue to be very important. We recognise that whilst transitions are an essential part of growing up, they do present children with challenges. A ‘Transition to Year 1’ meeting takes place in September to reassure and inform parents and carers about the new experiences and expectations of KS1.

Parents’ Evenings continue to be held twice a year in the autumn and spring Term, in addition to the annual written report there are termly target letters. Children study Mathematics, English and Science as well as a Creative Curriculum which includes Geography, History, Design Technology and Art. We have specialist Music, Language and Dance teachers and the children have daily access to laptops and interactive whiteboards to support their learning. Homework is used to support teaching and learning, all children read regularly both individually and within guided reading groups and reading standards are very high throughout the school.
